Album: THE S.L.P.

((trance)) is the third track on Sergio Pizzorno’s debut solo album, THE S.L.P.

The song was released ahead of the album on 15 August 2019. An official music video followed on 4 September and was directed by Sergio Pizzorno himself.

Serge described the starting point of the track as having a sense of “French sophistication”, citing Daft Punk and Cassius as influences. The song began as a slower and more delicate composition before Serge added the electronic beat beneath it. Serge compared its atmosphere to travelling through a city at night in a taxi or car on the way to meet friends, with blurred lights eventually giving way to the excitement of arriving.

For the official video, Serge drew inspiration from science fiction, 1970s disco aesthetics and films including Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and Arrival.
