Originally released on Kasabian’s 2011 album Velociraptor!, Days Are Forgotten has now returned in a new form. The band have released a new version of the song featuring Serge on lead vocals for the soundtrack of the new Amazon Prime series Young Sherlock.
This new edition is a shorter version with fewer instrumental sections. In addition, there are several changes to the arrangement, including new drums in the middle eight, a drop-out at the start of the second verse, and additional synths towards the end of the track.
Overall, the new version offers an interesting alternate take on Days Are Forgotten. For now, however, it appears to be a one-off soundtrack release rather than the start of a wider series of Serge-led reworkings.

As always, Kasabian Archive comes through with more goods.
Using these elements, the new version, the original album version, the official instrumental and the Z-Trip remix featuring LL Cool J, we have assembled a five-track EP featuring several alternate edits of Days Are Forgotten.
The first track is a recreation of the album version with Serge on lead vocals. Track two is the same version with the extended outro found on the official instrumental. Third is the first Kasabian Archive Edit, an album-length version of the track with additional instrumental sections taken from the new Young Sherlock version. Track four expands on this edit with the extended instrumental outro. Finally, track five recreates the Z-Trip remix featuring LL Cool J.
Listen to all five versions below.
