Rain On My Soul was developed by Saracuse during the later years of the band and exists in surfaced versions featuring both Tom Meighan and Serge Pizzorno on lead vocals.

An earlier incarnation of the song was recorded during Saracuse’s final session at Bedrock Studios on 21 September 2000 under the title Rain. In Sound, Movement and Empire, Joe Shooman notes that the song was also known as Rain In My Soul.

The song was also being performed live during this period. Journalist Ben Cole recalled seeing Saracuse perform a version of Rain On My Soul at Leicester’s Princess Charlotte in late 2000 and specifically remembered Serge Pizzorno singing the song.

Saracuse later recorded another incarnation of Rain On My Soul during a 2001 session at Bink Bonk Studios in Bristol. The session, produced by Mat Sampson, also featured Processed Beats and Beneficial Herbs.

Rain On My Soul was subsequently circulated on several Saracuse demo CDrs and on a three-track 2001 demo alongside Processed Beats and Gone So Far.

Recordings featuring both Tom Meighan and Serge Pizzorno on lead vocals have since surfaced.
