Kasabian have postponed the release of their ninth studio album, ACT III, from 17 July to 4 September 2026.

Announcing the seven-week delay, the band said:

“ACT III is now out 4th September. We’ve had the album back on the operating table for a few final adjustments. We couldn’t send it out into the world without getting everything just right, albums are forever! Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait. x”

The announcement was made less than 24 hours before the release of the album’s next single, SUPERPOWERS. No further explanation for the postponement has been made public, although an updated image on the official Kasabian store may offer a small indication of the changes being made.

The latest render of the album’s back sleeve now lists HIPPIE SUNSHINE entirely in capital letters, rather than the somewhat controversial correct capitalisation of ‘Hippie Sunshine’.

It is not currently known whether the alteration is simply an artwork correction or part of wider changes being made to the album.

The new release date also means that ACT III will now arrive two months after Kasabian’s sold-out headline concert at Finsbury Park on 4 July. The album was originally scheduled to follow the show by just under two weeks.

As it stands, the album’s physical campaign is relatively limited. Only a small number of vinyl variants have been announced, with no Blood Records edition currently available, no album launch shows confirmed and no TV or radio appearances scheduled.

As pure speculation from Kasabian Archive, vinyl production delays are another potential explanation, with The Strokes also recently postponing their new album due to manufacturing hold-ups.

However, there is currently no confirmation that vinyl production, physical availability or promotional plans have contributed to the delay. Kasabian’s statement refers only to the album being placed “back on the operating table” for a number of final adjustments.

ACT III will now be released on Friday, 4 September 2026.
