Kasabian have quietly updated the artwork for their forthcoming ninth studio album, ACT III, across streaming services.

The revised cover retains exactly the same design and photography as the version originally unveiled alongside the album announcement, but with one noticeable change: the previously black-and-white photographs of the band are now in colour.

No announcement has been made by Kasabian regarding the change, and at present it is unclear why the artwork has been updated.

The change comes ahead of the album’s rescheduled release on 4 September 2026, following its postponement from the original 17 July date. The band explained at the time that they had decided to delay the album after returning to the studio and adding further material.

There is currently nothing to suggest that the artwork change is connected to the delay, however, and no explanation for the switch from black and white to colour has been given.

It is also unclear whether the change will extend to the album’s physical editions. A number of different ACT III vinyl variants and CD editions are currently available to pre-order, including the standard vinyl, store-exclusive red vinyl and black-and-white vinyl editions.

At the time of writing, there has been no indication as to whether those physical releases will feature the original black-and-white cover or the newly updated colour version.

ACT III is released on 4 September.
