Info:
Angels, also known as Charlie, was recorded by Saracuse at Bedrock Studios in Leicester during their second studio session in 1999.
The song appears to have been written by Chris Karloff and was already being performed live before it was recorded. Journalist Ben Cole recalled being particularly impressed by its arpeggiated guitar, describing it as considerably stronger than much of the Oasis-influenced material the band were performing at the time. In Sound, Movement and Empire, Joe Shooman similarly identifies Angels as the standout of the six tracks recorded during the session and one of the first signs of Saracuse developing into a more distinctive band.
An acoustic version was recorded at Bedrock. Saracuse demo CDrs have documented the song under the titles Charlie and Charlie’s Angel, while Shooman states that Charlie was also known as Angels.
No recording of the track is known to have surfaced.
